Matthew Vaughn Back For X-Men: First Class Sequel

The bleak days of X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine have come and gone.  We now live in a world where we can be excited to hear about X-Men movie news, and a fair amount of credit for that goes to director Matthew Vaughn. Now we can happily report that the Kick-Ass director will be back to continue the relationship between Magneto and Professor Xavier for a follow-up to X-Men: First Class.

"Fox has just closed a deal with Matthew Vaughn to come back and direct the sequel to X-Men: First Class, with Simon Kinberg writing the script and Bryan Singer back as producer," reports Deadline. Yes, original X-Men director turned producer Bryan Singer is also back for more X-Men lovin'.  This is nothing but good news for fans of the mutant team. To make matters even better, both Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy have previously mentioned caring greatly for their respective characters and being well more than interested in sticking around to help events play out.
